Steven Friday, a Virginia Tech football player and graduate of Phoebus High, was arrested early Sunday morning after a fight at a Blacksburg nightclub, according to television station WDBJ7 in Roanoke.
Friday, a 6-foot-4, 218-pound redshirt freshman defensive end from Hampton, was one of several people arrested after a fight at Oge Chi's restaurant and lounge on Draper Road in downtown Blacksburg, WDBJ's Web site reported. He and several other people were charged with misdemeanors.
About 100 people were outside Oge Chi's at around 2 a.m., and police said 30 to 40 fights erupted, according to WDBJ. Friday is listed third on the depth chart at one of the defensive-end positions. He has played in three games this season and has two tackles

Miami used to be comprised of thugs..or that was the image they projected since they got off the plane in the fatigues...but, since the NCAA sanctions in the 90s, they haven't been that way. I'm the furthest thing from a Miami fan, but the program has been cleaned up, and ya gotta respect that. Speakin of thugs tho, did y'all see THE OSU (lol) tryin to fight after the Illini spanked that a$$?
...And if you ain't down with that, I got 2 words for ya....

VT will be scared of no thugs, cause plain and simple, they are the single most thugged out team in college football, hands down...

Well? Lets see them in comparison with the rest of the nation
Well these two should be saffice, ever heard of Mike and Marcus Vick???
here are some more and trust me I can find them all day, if you really want me to point it all out, but rmember you asked me to:
Considering the events that have transpired over the last five months, you can bet the Atlanta Falcons will do a lot of checking into the character of any future Virginia Tech prospect before even considering selecting him in the NFL Draft. First, they were made to look like fools by the Michael Vick dogfighting scandal. Then on Sunday, cornerback DeAngelo Hall pretty much single-handedly cost the team its first win of the season.
In case you missed it, on the ensuing drive following a Falcons' go-ahead touchdown that gave the team a 17-10 lead, Hall had a meltdown of epic proportions that led directly to the Carolina Panthers tying the game, which they eventually went on to win.
On the first play of the drive, Hall was flagged for pass interference against Panthers receiver Steve Smith, whom he'd been jawing with all day. Showing his frustration on the next play, Hall shoved Smith, drawing a 15-yard personal foul. Then, after it appeared the Falcons had held the Panthers to a field-goal attempt, Hall picked up an unsportsmanlike penalty for continuing to direct trash talk at Smith. The Panthers were awarded an automatic first down, and capitalized by converting it into a 5-yard Jake Delhomme TD pass.

MORTON GROVE, Ill. (AP) -- Frank Beamer hopes the only disruption Virginia Tech causes on the field this season will come from smart play by his defense.
After being defined partly by some THUGGISH actions last year, the 17th-ranked Hokies and their talented defense look to repair their image as they kick off the season against Division I-AA Northeastern on Saturday.
Virginia Tech went 11-2, finished No. 7 in the final rankings and earned a win in the Gator Bowl last season, but the foolish exploits of Marcus Vick and the Hokies' play against Louisville garnered most of the attention.
Vick did not draw a flag for stomping on the left leg of former Louisville All-American Elvis Dumervil, but Virginia Tech was still whistled for four personal fouls in the opening half.

ESPN.com - NCB - Va. Tech forward suspended for kicking Duke player: "Virginia Tech athletic director Jim Weaver suspended sophomore forward Deron Washington for Saturday's game at Wake Forest for kicking Duke's Lee Melchionni in the face during Thursday night's game."
Maybe moving to the ACC wasn't the best idea. It's like we've been corrupted by thug life.

Former Tech star named in lawsuit
A Norfolk lawyer says Jimmy Williams owes him $55,109.

NORFOLK -- Atlanta Falcons cornerback and former Virginia Tech standout Jimmy Williams and NBA rookie Shawne Williams received more than $100,000 in cash and other items from a Norfolk attorney while they were college athletes, according to lawsuits filed against the players.
The lawyer, Carl La Mondue, is seeking repayment, plus interest, of $55,109 from Jimmy Williams and his father and another $49,494 from Shawne Williams, according to the lawsuits filed Nov. 8 in Norfolk Circuit Court.
Jimmy Williams and Shawne Williams, who are not related, have not yet responded to the lawsuits. Both turned pro this spring.
The National Collegiate Athletic Association, which governs college sports, prohibits its athletes from receiving benefits or signing with an agent while still in school. The prohibition extends to family members and friends.
The association rules state that prohibited benefits "may include, but are not limited to, transportation, money and gifts, regardless of the benefit or whether or not you use the benefit."
